Whispering Shadows by Jan-Philipp Sendker . Review

This is the story about a man called Paul, he lives in Hong Kong and has been here a very long time. Once married with a child his circumstances have changed a lot but something is about to come into his life that will make him take an interest in life again in the form of a woman called Elizabeth. Elizabeth's son lives here and works in the family business as a director alongside a man called Victor Tang. They are a wealthy family and Elizabeth asks Paul for his help with translating and anything else he can do when her son goes missing . So begins a mystery  and a story about corruption  , deceit and moving forwards. I really enjoyed the setting of the book and the author writes so beautifully even if he is describing Paul's friend Zhang preparing a  Meal or the hustle and bustle of travelling in the area , you really feel like you are there and I loved that!
I recommend this to everyone ,especially if you love books based in different countries.
