The Separation by Dinah Jefferies. Review

This story just blew me away!
From the opening chapter I was gripped when we first meet the characters then quickly learn something is not quite right .  This is an intricate story with plenty of twists and turns making it very hard to predict what could happen next. The mother in the story is called Lydia and she has a big heart and  is incredibly  resilient , she needs to be to cope with what is going on in the story. The bond between her and her children, one of  them especially, Emma, is very touching . The story is told from two countries by different people and it is fast paced. There are no slow moments in this book so if you want a book that will keep your interest then I recommend this without doubt. There is one particular character that I detested and that made the story even harder to put down as his behaviour is shocking so you want to see what is going to happen with him. There is so much to love about this book that I could recommend this to anyone! A story of hope and love.

I received this book for review from the lovely folks over at Lovereading.co.uk .
This book is due to be published in May 2014 and will be available from Lovereading and all other bookstores then.

Dead Between the Lines by Denise Swanson.Review.

Denise Swanson is one of my all time favourite authors and I become very excited when I know she has a new book coming out. When this arrived in the post recently I could not wait to read it!
This book is book three in the Deveraeux Dime Mystery series.
When I started this series I did not think I could love a series as much as Denise's other series set in Scumble River, but I have fallen in love with this Deveraux Dime series and its characters , esp Deveraux who is a cool curvy chick.
In this book, book 3 in the series we meet some great characters and some down right horrible ones, plus Deveraux is practically fighting off the men as she has more then one man interested in her, add in a dead body and you have a fun filled read that is worth setting some time aside for . Fantastic book, loved it! Go get it!

The Hanging Shed by Gordon Ferris.Review.

We are thrown right into the action as the story opens after a serious crime has been committed. Some think that the person who has been accused of the  crime(Hugh Donovan) is actually innocent. He quickly needs the help of an ex-soldier/ex -policeman called Douglas Brodie .
The story is set in 1940's in Glasgow and it was very enjoyable seeing the way locals speak, I think Gordon did a great job of making the characters come alive in that way. Some of the details of the crimes are a little hard to read about but it is written so well you gladly keep reading. It was an edge of the seat plot with a lot of travel and the pace really speeds up from midway towards the end. I found it great fun trying to figure out how everything was going to come together by the end of the book and by the time I got there I was very satisfied. If you like a hero who is a bit of a rough diamond then you will really enjoy the main character.
I kindly received this book for review from lovereading.co.uk

The Hanging Shed was book 1 in this Glasgow Quartet series,he final book in the series is Gallowglass and it due to be released in April 2014.
